PROGRAM DETAILS

Grade 10 (Semester II) Students are referred by teachers and the guidance department as potential candidates for the program. Interested students are interviewed and asked to submit a two-page essay on a topic related to the program. A maximum of 20 students are chosen for the ACE program. Grade 11 (Semester II) ACE students are registered in a Grade 12 credit course at the high school in addition to their three other regular courses. The courses focuses on preparing students for their post-secondary experience by developing their research, study, and critical thinking skills. Through the duration of the course, students make several visits to York University in attempt to become familiar with the campus and the various resources and services available at the university.
Grade 12 (Semester I) |
Students are enrolled in a THREE-CREDIT first year Philosophy university course at York University. Students are enrolled in a THREE credit cooperative education high school course. Students experience a cooperative work placement at York University. Upon completing their post-secondary experience, students take an additional Grade 12 credit course in the remaining month of the semester (on campus). |
